Dopo due rinvii a causa dei recenti incendi di Los Angeles, venerdì si è svolta la trentesima edizione dei Critics Choice Awards, come riportato dal sito TVLine. Una serata indimenticabile per Shōgun. La serie, giunta alla serata con il maggior numero di nomination nelle categorie televisive, ha portato a casa quattro premi, inclusi quelli per la migliore serie drammatica, attore in una serie drammatica (Hiroyuki Sanada), attore non protagonista in una serie drammatica (Tadanobu Asano) e attrice non protagonista in una serie drammatica (Moeka Hoshi).
Tra i vincitori ai Critics Choice Awards di quest’anno anche Adam Brody, Michael Urie e Cristin Milioti.
